The UK Spouse / Unmarried Partner Visa is for the spouse or partner of a British Citizen to relocate to the United Kingdom and follow a 5 year route to ILR and citizenship. This visa has strict financial criteria attached to it which can be satisfied in various ways.  We are here to guide you on the best options for you and your partner to start your life together in the UK

This visa is for citizens of commonwealth countries who are 17 years of age or older who have a grandparent who was born in the UK.   This visa allows you to bring your dependant spouse / partner and children to the UK with you where you then follow a 5 year path to ILR and an additional year to citizenship. 

This category of visa is open to those with a skill that is considered to be a benefit to the United Kingdom.  This visa requires sponsorship by an employer and does lead to settlement provided you qualify for ILR having been in the UK for 5 years.  You are able to bring your dependant spouse / partner and children with you on this visa. 

For the children of British Citizens, the settlement visa (child dependant) is the route to the UK.  Children on this visa can obtain citizenship after 3 years residence in the UK.   There are different rules for those children where both parents are British or they are the child of a single British parent.
